Substance Abuse Assessments in Georgia

Being asked to complete an assessment can leave you with questions about what happens next. You may have a referral, a deadline, or paperwork that uses unfamiliar language. You do not need to have every detail figured out before you reach out.

I’m Paige Whitten, a Georgia licensed professional counselor. I provide private clinical assessments in Georgia. If you need a substance abuse assessment, contact me to discuss the request and whether my service fits what you need.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Preparing for your appointment

Have your referral instructions available so you can explain the purpose of the request. It is also useful to know who will receive the report and whether they have provided a deadline or specific instructions.

Because appointments are virtual, plan to join from a private, quiet place where you can talk without interruptions. Bring any questions you have about the appointment or report. If records have been requested, ask how to provide them before sending documents.

For a practical checklist before we meet, read the guide to preparing for a virtual clinical assessment.

APPOINTMENTS & REPORTS

The assessment and report process

We begin by discussing the referral and current appointment availability. Most assessment appointments last about one hour. Let me know about any time constraints when you first reach out so we can discuss timing before you book.

Reports are typically completed within 7–10 business days. Expedited availability may be possible; please ask before relying on a shorter turnaround. A report can be sent to an attorney, agency, or other authorized recipient with a signed Release of Information.

Assessments are private-pay services and are not billed to insurance. Visit Fees & FAQ for payment information, and contact me to confirm the fee for your requested assessment.

Appointments are typically available within one week. Fees vary depending on the assessment requested. Contact me with the assessment name, any referral instructions, and your deadline so I can confirm availability and pricing before you schedule.

Common questions

Are appointments offered online?

Yes. I offer virtual clinical assessment appointments in Georgia. When you reach out, tell me where you will be located for the appointment and what assessment has been requested.

Can I use insurance for an assessment?

Assessments are private-pay and are not billed to insurance. The insurance information elsewhere on this website applies to therapy. Please confirm the assessment fee before scheduling.

Will the organization requesting the assessment accept the report?

Acceptance depends on that organization’s requirements. Before booking, confirm what it requires and share those instructions with me. An assessment appointment does not guarantee acceptance or a particular decision.

Can my referring professional contact you?

Yes. A referring professional can contact me to discuss the requested service, requirements, and timing. The Professional Referrals page explains how to start that conversation.
